Thank you all so much for the calls and letters of congratulations I have received today. It looks like the word got out quickly! I am so excited to be moving into my new role as the Dean of the School of Education at Houston Baptist University. I honestly believe that this is path that I have been called to. I hope that my many wonderful friends, colleagues and my students know that the opportunity to move into this new role at HBU would not have been possible had I not acquired the depth of knowledge I gained at SHSU. Although, my excitement to move to HBU is beyond my ability to hide, leaving those who have mentored and guided me along with the students who have touched my life and taught me to be a better teacher leaves me with an empty place in my heart. I will miss my daily interactions with each of you and hope that we continue our relationships. I will miss being a part of the SHSU family, but am eager to learn from my new colleagues and create many new friendships at HBU!

National Innovative Counseling Strategies Conference!

The National Innovative Counseling Strategies Conference was today and I think our presentation went GREAT! It looks like we will add a few more schools to our study and I met some fantastic individuals who share the same passion as I do! Dr. Rose, of course, did his magic and kept our audience engaged with his stories about life teaching before SHSU! LOL!

I love hearing this song played....

Give me the heart of a servant, tender and faithful and true. Fill me with love, then use me, Oh Lord, So that the world may see you.

Lots accomplished!

I feel like so much was accomplished this weekend! First, TACT met in Austin and we finalized our Legislative Agenda (YIPPEE...my last legislative duty as VP of Legislative Affairs...on to President -Elect responsibilities). Next, headed to Galveston to work with TAEYC and hand over my duties as Editor for Early Years and take on my new role as VP of Affiliate Relations.... goals set, long term planning complete, strategic plan in place :)
Summer I classes are up and running and grading to date! Lastly, and most importantly...home in time for Sunday night dinner (yummy chicken tacos) and just had to sit in silence and the kids went non stop chatting about what they did when I was gone! You would have thought I was gone for a month! LOL!!!

Fluffers sure loves our garden!

Yummy carrots.... Which now won't be in our chicken soup... Lol!!!

Amazing...

I can not imagine being any place but right here at this very moment sitting on the patio, listening to music, watching Jacqueline swing while chubbs is throwing and chasing his bone and all the squirrels are using our trees and fence as a giant playground..... Life is truly wonderful and I am truly blessed :)

Just signed up kids for Church Camp this summer and Jacqueline is old enough to go to Preteen camp (Mt. Lebanon Camp in Dallas, Texas)  Wow! Poor Jacqueline...cried for almost an hour..... Ugh! Broke my heart...Guess fish shopping is on tomorrows to do list!

Graduate Research Exchange

The presentations today at the Graduate Research Exchange were amazing! I was honored to be a discussant and scorer. I learned so much and the experience was just as beneficial to me as it was to the students. I was able to see all the different research going on at the university and was amazed at what our students within our college and across campus were doing!
